Yoga

I’m a retired family doctor with a long-standing interest in health and healing. I believe everyone - every age, every body type, every degree of bendiness - can do yoga and become more fit. I was an awkward bookworm as a child and teenager until I began running in medical school and discovered that even non-athletes can love movement. I hope to pass this love on to you.

It gives me joy to practice yoga and to teach to the best of my ability. I love the feeling of unity and community as we breathe together in the midst of class, as stress falls away and our worries take a back seat to the knowledge that all is well.

My training began at a local yoga studio in Victoria and then led to workshops and further training with amazing teachers around the world. My goal is to keep learning, keep practicing and keep teaching as long as I can stand!

In my classes, a student can expect to feel somewhat challenged but well looked after and guided. My teaching style could be described as slow flow. You can expect to be helped into alignment by demonstration and verbal cues. There will be an emphasis on breath and movement, you will be warm, and we will work towards increased mobility (the lovechild of strength and flexibility!)
