Are you an experienced hospitality professional looking for a seasonal management position? The Hotel Grand Pacific is hiring a Manager-on Duty for a temporary contract. An independent luxury property located on Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour, we offer a more personalized experience focused on guest satisfaction. The chosen candidate will use their excellent attention to detail and solid leadership skills to help supervise our front office operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Contract runs from May 1st to October 31st, with possibility of extension. We require someone available to work 32-40 hours per week.

Description of Duties:

  • Assist in managing well-planned, organized, and efficient Front Office operations
  • Maintain current and accurate information for use by the Guest Services team
  • Assist with scheduling and training of staff
  • Cover Guest Service Agent breaks as necessary
  • Maintain the highest level of guest service and professionalism possible
  • Help maximize hotel occupancy and average daily rate
  • Ensure safety and security of the hotel, staff, and guests at all times

Qualifications & Abilities:

  • 2 years of management-on-duty experience in a hotel environment
  • Superior knowledge of Opera PMS and MS Office
  • OFA Level 2 Certification
  • Professional and effective verbal & written communication skills
  • A strategic thinker with proven decision-making abilities
  • Detail orientated and able to multi-task
  • Able to work more than 30 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as required
