Due to upcoming relocation of an employee, Hotel Grand Pacific is seeking a new Chef de Partie to join our close-knit kitchen team. An independent 4-star property, we provide a professional and supportive work environment. This is an exciting time to join us as our Pacific Restaurant enters the final stages of its renovation process. If you have your Red Seal and proven leadership experience in the kitchen of a fine-dining restaurant, we encourage you to apply!

Description of Duties:

  • Prepare, cook and present foods by maintaining the standards and consistency established by the kitchen management team
  • Assess the quality of each order before it goes out
  • Supervise, train and mentor staff in a designated section of the kitchen
  • Assist in planning and execution of Banquet menus and other menus as assigned
  • Follow the latest trends in culinary arts
  • Monitor and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness within the kitchen
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Abilities:

  • Red Seal and Food Safe certificate
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a hotel or fine dining restaurant
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Clear communication skills and ability to effectively delegate when required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Accountability for all decisions made during the shift
  • Previous exposure to food costing
  • Available to work full-time and at varied shift times

Salary: $25.47 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Victoria, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Restaurant: 4 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Red Seal (preferred)
  • Food Safe (preferred)
