The hotel has been accepting guests into the new rooms since the end of May. All 308 guest rooms feature complimentary high speed internet access, private balconies, and air conditioning. With over 10,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space the hotel is ideal for your corporate or association event. We have recently joined with the Utell reservations network which links the hotel to a world wide reservation booking system. Our retail level featuring The Spa at the Grand, Currency Exchange, and our Cafe will be opening in July 2001. We are currently designing a new virtual tour for you to take right from your home computer. | With the expansion of The Hotel Grand Pacific complimentary High Speed Internet Access has been wired into all guest rooms. The enhanced network was activated the beginning of June 2001 and is being very well received by both Leisure and Corporate travellers. The simple access to the Web is handy for guests wishing to check their emails, and keep up to date while on business in Victoria. For guests that travel without a laptop computer internet will be available through our in house pay per view system with a wireless keyboard. LodgeNet Entertainment will be installing this service by mid July 2001. Stay tuned for more enhanced technology being added to all our guest rooms. |

| April 2001 brings the installation of the front entrance canopy, establishing the "look" of the hotel from Belleville Street. The landscaping is moving ahead with the finishing work on the water features, fountains, and foundation work for the main driveway. Chef Van Tassell's new main kitchen is almost finished, and is currently being outfitted with state of the art equipment. Carpet installation is on schedule and we are expecting the first delivery of the custom crafted furniture for the new guest rooms and suites. |

| Late last month saw the removal of the scaffolding revealing the finished
exterior of the new wing. Finishing work and detail carpentry is starting
on the 2nd and 3rd floors including carpet, granite counter tops and tub
surrounds, and light fixtures. February will see the new lobby millwork
and granite flooring being installed along with completion of the new main
kitchen and banquet service facilities.

| On Tuesday January 30th 2001, the hotel had a ceremony steeped in
Chinese tradition which saw Vancouver fortune teller Sherman Tai spread
five coins (symbolizing wood, water, fire, earth and gold as well as
bringing money to the business) over a rectangle on the floor in the very
center of the new building. Then rice, green tea, and water (food for life,
good luck, and the need for life) were sprinkled over the space which was
then sealed forever with the final golden shovel of concrete. The
ceremony included Mr. Lam, representing the hotel's Tokyo based
ownership group, Mayor Alan Lowe, and several local tourism dignitaries
Some new features of all the guest rooms will be complimentary high speed internet access, enhanced guest privacy technology, and energy management systems. Our luxury suites will feature gas fireplaces, steam showers, jacuzzi soaker tubs, and they will have three balconies with stunning views of Victoria's beautiful inner harbour.
