The Hotel Grand Pacific is a modern building with an enviable address on Victoria's Inner Harbour, this member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts has a reputation for superb service, fueled by hand-picked professionals whose mission is to see to it that every guest receives an award-winning service oriented experience.
The Hotel Grand Pacific has 304 guest rooms, 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting and conference space, three restaurants, an Athletic Club, and Day Spa.
The exceptional candidate will possess a successful and proven track record and experience in a senior role as a Director of Sales & Marketing. The Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for the following: - Responsible to meet and exceed budgeted guest room revenues by selling and promoting rooms and meeting facilities
- The position has a public relations component involving the building of relationships in the community and being an active member in local organizations
- Responsible for the leadership, motivation and production of a dynamic sales team
- Liaises with the General Manager and the advertising agency to ensure coordination and marketing support for all sales initiatives
- Along with the Director of Operations, Revenue Manager and General Manager, ensure that the hotel is well placed with reservation systems, tourism directories, consortiums, wholesalers, travel agencies and any other booking channels
- Coordinate creation, design, implementation and distributions of packages, including Food & Beverage, Athletic Club and the Spa
- Oversee and guide Marketing Coordinator activities including production of in-house promotional pieces, web site and date-base maintenance and exposure on travel web sites
- Participate in community events and be an active member of local tourism and business organizations
- Maximize all Marketing opportunities within the hotel's reservation system and chain affiliation
- Prepare a yearly room revenue budget and the annual Sales & Marketing plan

Required Qualifications:- An even-keeled problem solver, the incumbent is a motivator and a developer of people to achieve 5 star service with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- The successful candidite is client focused and able to build strong relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills and has the flexibility to meet changing needs
- A minimum of 8 years sales experience required in a hotel environment
- Experience with Revenue Management
- Previous experience as a Director of Sales or Marketing an asset
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- University or College degree in Hospitality Management an asset

Previous sales experience in a 4 Diamond hotel preferred, experience with a variety of market
segments an asset.
